About Course

This program will equip Nigerian university graduates with practical geospatial, data, and remote sensing skills that are directly aligned with industry demand, enabling them to compete in the global tech space, increase employability, and create new economic opportunities across multiple sectors.

Course Duration

  • Total Length: 8 Weeks (2 Months).

  • Weekly Commitment: 5–8 hours (2 hours of core lessons + 3–6 hours of implementation).

  • Format: Online + weekly live Q&A sessions for troubleshooting

Programme Structure

The programme is structured into three progressive levels

Level 1: Geospatial Foundation (Core Skills for All)

Level 2: Sector-Specific Career Tracks

Level 3: Professional Deployment & Employability

Student Prerequisites

  • Technical Level: Basic computer literacy (browsing, file management). No coding required.

  • Tools Required: A laptop, a stable internet connection

Note: Participants choose one or two sector tracks based on interest and career goals.

Course Content

LEVEL 1: GEOSPATIAL FOUNDATION
Outcome: Graduates become geospatially literate, capable of basic GIS analysis and map production.

  • Introduction to GIS and Remote Sensing
  • Spatial Data Types (Vector, Raster, DEM)
  • Coordinate Systems and Map Projections
  • GPS, Mobile Data Collection, and Geo-tagging
  • Basic Remote Sensing (Satellite imagery, UAVs)
  • Cartography and Professional Map Production
  • Introduction to Spatial Databases and Geodatabases

SECTOR-SPECIFIC GEOSPATIAL CAREER TRACKS
Participants select one primary career path (others optional)
